Thank you so much to all the Kool 108 listeners who helped contribute to a record breaking fundraiser for the Twin Cities Salvation Army on Saturday. You helped us raise more than $156,000 shattering the record set last year of $113,000!

The Twin Cities Salvation Army has another kettle kickoff under its belt and the results are outstanding thanks to a $50,000 matching gift from Hormel, Cure 81 Hams and a $15,000 early morning check presentation from Cub Foods. Personal checks and online gifts as of 9 p.m. totaled $23,000, The big news is the dynamic giving at the kettles. More than 200 volunteer bell ringers, Rock Stars, worked 90 kettles for 8 hours and preliminary kettle numbers show $60,000 as volunteers continue to count funds.

The Twin Cities Christmas goal is set at $10.8 million. The end of the campaign is December 31, 2013.
