A compilation of 12 previously unreleased songs will make up Jimi Hendrix’s new album, “People, Hell and Angels,” and will be available to the public on March 5th. The album will include new material that Hendrix worked on apart from the Jimi Hendrix Experience from 1968 to 1969.

Rolling Stone reported that the sound of the album shows that Hendrix was headed in “new, experimental directions,” and that the sessions were meant to be included in his never-released “First Rays of the New Rising Sun” record.

Hendrix’s “Valleys of Neptune” album was released in 2010 and included 12 other unreleased songs from “First Rays.” His new album is meant to complement that album, as well as introduce fans to a different side of Hendrix captured only in his solo work.
