On this day in 1980 the most famous arcade/video game of the 80's, Pac-Man was released. I remember playing it at the arcade in Oak Park Heights behind the old Dairy Queen, which is now a Taco Bell on Hwy. 36. I spent a few hours a week at the arcade because I really couldn't afford an Atari home video console. I actually preferred the arcade game. I never did play the Milton Bradley board game, but I did try the Pac-Man breakfast cereal in 1983, of course made here in the Twin Cities at General Mills.
Pac-Man's legacy is so strong the game is displayed at the Smithsonian Institute in Wash. DC and New York's Museum of Modern Art!!
Do you remember the names of the 4 multi-colored ghosts? Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde
