It's time again for the Pianos on Parade initiative, which aims to advance music in communities.
Minneapolis is looking for artist to design and paint 25 pianos which will be placed around the city next month. This year’s theme is “summer in downtown Minneapolis!” If you're interested, submissions for piano designs must be submitted by May 11.
Pianos on Parade program has been around since 2010 thanks to Belle Plaine-based educational nonprofit Keys 4/4 Kids, the organization refurbishes used pianos donated to them and resells them.
The program installed 25 artfully decorated pianos in downtown Minneapolis last year, too.
