Lee dropped by Danforth Music Hall to take in a set by Claypool Lennon Delirium and wound up on stage for the band's closing jam on the Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows," featuring Sean Ono Lennon on lead vocals.
It would appear Lee was persuaded to jam after he arrived at the venue, since he strapped on one of Claypool's Carl Thompson basses, rather than his own signature Fender Jazz bass. Lee was not introduced before the performance, but the Toronto crowd quickly recognized him lurking in the background and greeting him with a hearty round of applause.
You can watch fan-filmed video of the collaboration above!
Since completing a press tour for his Big, Beautiful Book of Bass this past winter, Lee has been contemplating song ideas he's accumulated since Rush's final tour. The bassist has maintained his intension to record new music, but he has little in the way of a timeline for the project.
