Make It Through Monday - #Trashtag

I first heard about the #TrashTag Challenge while I was filling in with Meg on the morning show last week and I just knew I needed to share it as well for my Make It Through Monday Moment, powered by Winkie's Hallmark & Gifts. This is one of the coolest viral challenges I've ever seen especially because it's something positive that's being shared, not something that is sending us to the hospital, making us feel bad or is scary, etc. If you're not familiar with the #trashtag challenge, you basically post a picture of an area that is filled with trash and then post another picture of what it looks like now after you've cleaned up all the trash! Then the "tag" part comes in. After cleaning up the trash you "tag" someone on social picking them to be the next person to clean up an area filled with trash and so on. If we all clean up a trash filled area and pass it onto the next person, soon enough we have many more clean streets, beaches, cities, etc. The best part about this viral challenge, in my opinion, is that we're finally sharing social posts that can make a difference and positive instead of sharing the ones that hurt others, show how ridiculous our world has become, etc.

There's a Facebook page you can check out and if you decide to take part just make sure you use #trashtag and #trashtagchallenge.

Winkie's Hallmark & Gifts is also focusing on that "feel good" and positive way of life with their "just because" cards. They brought these back as well as their "free card Friday" feature to focus on making people feel good. They've got this huge line of cards that you can send "just because". Maybe someone is having a tough time at work, a parent is feeling overwhelmed, or you just want to make someone's day, these cards are perfect for that because you can send them "just because" and put a smile on their face. If you're a Winkie's Hallmark & Gifts member, which is free and easy to sign up for, the "just because" cards are free on Fridays! Winkie's Hallmark & Gifts is located at the corner of Silver Spring and Lake Drive in Whitefish Bay.
