Pictures from Hannah and Jaime's Marriage Celebration

I'm sure you've heard our story by now but just in case, here's a very quick summary. My husband Jaime and I got married in Mexico in 2017 so we could start his paperwork to move to the United States. We literally sat in front of a judge where he read from a pamphlet and never looked up. Luckily afterward Jaime's family had a little party for us with a taco truck and live band so we could have a little celebration but none of my family and friends were there, not even my parents. Jaime and I knew we wanted to validate our marriage in the church and have an actual ceremony and reception here and on June 18, 2022 we finally made it happen! Yes I'm just sharing the photos now but it was a crazy busy year for us. Better late than never right?

The ceremony was at our church St. Leonard in Muskego and of course I'm biased but it was beautiful. We incorporated some of the Mexican traditions like the lasso where we were joined together by a very large rosary and even had some of the readings in Spanish. We loved everyone we worked with including Fr. Dan, Fr. Jerry, and the music director Bryan. We got so many compliments about the music. Bryan did a fantastic job along with the four choir singers we had. The music was so beautiful you would have thought there was a 30 person choir singing.

The reception was at Halverson House and if you need an event space for anything definitely go there. It's a family run business and Mike and Joi are literally the best. I cannot say enough good things about them. They are wonderful people and did a fantastic job with our reception, so much so that we ended up having our baby shower there as well! They paid such close attention to all the details and even went above and beyond for us.

Flowers were done by Tully Floral Design and believe it or not they were silk! All of the florists we contacted were already booked and I'm glad it ended up that way otherwise I never would have met Melissa from Tully Floral Design. She did a fantastic job with the flowers and really worked with what we wanted. I brought back all the vases from Mexico and she was able to put everything together without getting those in advance. The cool thing about using silk flowers is that you get to keep your personal flowers but rent the centerpieces and other floral décor so it saves you money! They looked so real people were checking the vases for water. :)

Rhythm in Motion is who we used as our DJ and Bill was amazing! He had the big task of playing all different types of music and nailed it. We asked people to submit songs they wanted to hear in advance and I think I heard every single one of those requests. I also had some friends on the dance floor until the very last second and he was keeping them happy up until the very end. It was really important to me to incorporate as much of Jaime's culture as I could and Bill really nailed all the different music.

Our photographer, Meg McKenzie, is a friend so you can't book her for anything but she's in real estate and would be great for you to contact if you're looking to buy or sell a house!

I absolutely loved my hair and make-up done by Avenue M Salon & Spa and Rachel Rene Hair. I highly recommend them if you ever need hair/make-up for anything.

The cake was ordered from O&H Danish Bakery and the design was exactly what I wanted. All other desserts were homemade by my family and they did a spectacular job. Everything was so delicious! As our wedding favor we brought back the Valentina hot sauce from Mexico and my mom and I homemade all the jams.

The day was literally perfect and we were so grateful to be surrounded by so many people we love. Unfortunately the only family member of Jaime's that was able to come from Mexico was his brother Manuel but we were so happy to have him there and can't wait for him to come back and visit again! Knowing Jaime's family couldn't be there I put together a surprise video for him that we played at the wedding. Click here to watch it on YouTube. The picture of Jaime in tears is when he saw the video. It was so special and I'm so grateful to my friend Shannen for helping put it together.

Check out pictures from our amazing day!
